Adventure Xstream Durango - 12hr

AdventureXstream Durango will be a drastic change from the canyon lands of Moab . The course offers up world class single track mountain biking. Set in the beautiful back country of the San Juan Mountains, teams will test their mettle in the third stop in the AdventureXstream Series. So, come join us in Durango in June!

The Adventure Xstream 24 Hour races as well as The Xstream Expedition are all races included in the Checkpoint Tracker National Points Series. Teams can accumulate points in their best 4 races in the national points series. An additional $10,000.00 is up for grabs in this national series. Disciplines Included for the Durango 12hr Adventure Race:

  • River Paddle - Flat Water w/a short Class I/II whitewater section (~10-15 miles)
  • Mountain Bike (~25-35 miles)
  • Trek(~8-12 miles)
  • UTM Plotting & Map Navigation
  • Ropes: Tyrolean Traverse

*Each disciplines distance is given as a range for training purposes. Exact distances are not given so that the course will remain secret. Disciplines, distances and difficulty subject to change.

Durango 24 Hour Course Returning in 2009:

  • With the addition of the Buena Vista 24 hour course and with Primal Quest taking place on June 21st we will be taking a sabatacle from the Durango 24 hour course option. So, this year the Durango venue will offer a 12 hour course option. A 24 hour course will return in 2009.

Approximate drive times to Durango from:
Albuquerque - 3.5 hours
Denver - 6.5 hours
Salt Lake City - 7 hours
Phoenix - 8 hours
Las Vegas - 10 hours

Support Crew or Shuttle Option: Teams can choose to have a support crew or hire a shuttle service for the event. Support crews will transport your food and gear as well as provide moral support at the transition areas of the event. If you can't provide your own support crew teams can hire a shuttle service that will transport your gear to each of the transition areas. Cost for the shuttle service is $25.00 per person. Colorado Search & Rescue Card
All participants are required to have a Colorado Search & Rescue card to participate in any of the Colorado AdventureXstream events. This card costs $3.00 and is good for one year. This card will pay for any Search & Rescue cost in Colorado. These cards will be available for purchase at racer check-in if you do not have one already. Lodging:
