About Durango
Durango has so much to offer for the Traveler as well as the Sports enthusiast. Take the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad for a trip back into American history. Visit Mesa Verde, or several other beautiful National Parks that are all short drives from Durango. Durango has so many things to do locally from a rodeo to hot springs, chuckwagon dinner, ride a glider, river rafting, fly fishing, horseback riding, rock climbing, mountain biking, snow skiing, sleigh rides, wildlife viewing, photo shooting and on and on. In Town, you will just have a ball, visit Durango’s galleries, unusual gift shops, our many fantastic restaurants and our awesome saloons and you can take a photo to remember your trip. Durango has it all and we would love to share our beautiful area of the Southwest with you!

Colorado Search & Rescue Card

All participants are encouraged to have a Colorado Search & Rescue card (or Hunting/Fishing license) to participate in any of the Colorado Adventure Xstream events. This card costs $3.00 and is good for one year. This card will pay for most or all of any Search & Rescue including helicopter transport in the event of an accident. These cards will be available for purchase at racer check-in if you do not have one already.

When/Where To Arrive
You will need to arrive in Durango for registration between 6:00pm and 9:00pm on Friday June 25th. Check-in will be at Durango Mountain Resort (Purgatory Ski Area), 30 minutes north of Durango on Hwy 550. Check-in will be outside next to the 6 pack lift. All athletes and support crews are requested to arrive together at check-in.

Supported or Shuttle/Gear Drop Option Updated: For this event you can choose to have it be supported or do the Gear Drop/Shuttle Option. We encourage you to provide your own support crew as this will limit your logistical requirements for the event. However, if you cannot provide your own support crew we will be offering a Gear Drop/ Shuttle option for those teams. This service will be offered at no charge. Additional logistical information about the shuttle/gear drop will be posted to the "race updates" pages in the near future.

Accommodations: Durango Mountain Resort (Formerly Purgatory Ski area) is our host lodging provider. A 20% discount is available to registered racers. Call 1-800-982-6103 or 1-970-247-9000 and mention you are with the race to get the discount.

Tyrolean Traverse: No certification is required for the traverse. See gear requirements for the traverse.

Boat Requirements
Adventure Xstream will provide the Zoik tandem inflatable kayaks for all 2 person and 4 person teams. In order to keep the paddling sections fair and equitable all teams will be required to use the boats provided. Alterations to the kayaks will not be permitted. Note: We do not provide life vests or paddles.

Solo racers are required to provide their own boat. Please secure your boat needs well in advance of the race. Solo racers can use kayaks, sit on top kayaks or inflatable kayaks. Note - oarlocks are not permitted. If you rent a kayak from an outfitter you must have the kayak and bring it with you to check-in on Friday. If you rent from us the kayak will be ready for you at the transition area during the race.

We have secured 15 Solo Zoik Inflatables that solo racers can rent on a first come first served basis. We will have the kayaks ready at the transition area so that you do not have to transport a kayak for the event. Cost is $30.00. You can reserve a kayak HERE.
