...MXT - Moab Xstream Off Road Triathlon

Notice: The Kokopelli Challenge has been cancelled, this includes all 3 races, Kayak Race, Adventure Race, and the Off Road Triathlon.

Regretably, due to a lack of interest and only a very small number of registered racers for this weekend of events we have to cancel these events for the 2009 season. This includes the 24-30 hour Adventure Race, the Kokopelli Challenge Kayak Race and the Moab Xstream Off Road Triathlon. We appologize to those racers that had pre-registered and made plans to attend the races in Moab. We understand your dissapointment, but the number of registered racers at this date simply won't support the event.

We are in the process of contacting each team/racer to inform them of the cancellation. And, we will be issuing refunds to all those racers who have paid their entry fees. Please contact us if you have any questions. 970-259-7771.

We hope to see you again at the 2010 Adventure Xstream Series.

What would you get if you mixed a Triathlon an Adventure Xstream Adventure Race? You get the Moab Xstream Off Road Triathlon! The MXT puts some adventure into off road triathlons.

The race starts off with an 800m downriver swim in the Colorado River, then athletes will swim up Kane Creek, then sprint back to the transition area. (Depending on river levels in Kane Creek, the alternate Swim would be to exit the river before entering Kane Creek) From there athletes will do an out and back mountain bike on the infamous Amasa Back trail. After returning to the transition area you will run the Jackson Trail and get back on the Amasa Back trail to the finish. This will be the most fun and adventureous triathlon you will ever do. The terrain and the views are spectacular! Its Moab.....

  • Down River Swim - 800m
  • Mountain Bike - 10 miles
  • Trail Run - 6 miles

The Mountain Bike and Trail running portions of the triathon are not easily accessible by vehicle. Hence aid stations with water are not possible. So, athletes will be required to carry a minimum of 32 ounces of water for the bike and the run.
